Honestly for motion most ships are well stabilized they have Stabilizer wings that project out 60 feet or more from the sides of the hull when underway did you know that to reduce rolling motion. The only time you feel motion is when. Is the 7th floor better then the 4th floor.

I always prefer Aft to Forward. Starboard generally has better views but it has never been enough to weigh in on room selection. If you are not doing much night cruising this is not really and issue.
